Little Lambs promotes healthy physical activity within the setting as we believe that being active whilst young will help children to stay happy and strong.
Eating healthily and taking part in physical activity can help them:
We recognise that children will be at different levels of ability and we will never take any child outside their comfort zone and in most cases, children can judge for themselves what they are able to do.
We try to aim and achieve an hour of physical activity per day which can be broken up into manageable sessions i.e. walking to and from school, nursery, shops, library and park, singing and dancing in the setting, garden play etc.
This is very often supplemented and followed by playing physical games within the Little Lambs setting by the means of skipping, pulling and pushing roll-along equipment, hula hoops, hide and seek, hopscotch, playing catch ball, football, Simon says etc.
We like to encourage children to spend more time outdoors.
